DR TALHAH MALIK
Director/Lead Psychiatrist
Hello! I’m Talhah. I graduated in medicine from Cardiff University in 2013. Ever since my first placement in psychiatry during medical school, I’ve been deeply fascinated by the complexities of the mind. This early exposure guided my decision to specialize in psychiatry, leading me to complete my Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in forensic psychiatry. The CCT signifies that I have met the rigorous standards required to practice as a consultant within the UK’s National Health Service and allows me to be listed on the GMC Specialist Register.
I serve as the responsible clinician for a 16-bed medium secure male inpatient psychiatric unit and as the lead psychiatrist for a secure psychiatric hospital. I also conduct medico-legal reports for court cases, which allows me to contribute to broader aspects of mental health care.
As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, I specialise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of ADHD and autism spectrum disorders (ASD), particularly in complex cases involving forensic and clinical settings. I have extensive experience working with individuals where these conditions co-occur with mental health disorders. My expertise includes preparing court reports on ADHD and ASD, providing detailed medico-legal assessments, and offering tailored management plans. I am passionate about improving outcomes for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions through evidence-based, person-centered care.
Outside of work, I’m an avid football and tennis player and cherish spending quality time with family and friends. I’m also a proud dad to a 6-month-old son who keeps me on my toes!
