Autism Assessment Coventry

Living with undiagnosed autism as an adult or child can bring unnecessary difficulties to your day-to-day life – we’re here to help.

An autism diagnosis helps you understand why you feel or react in the ways you do, as well as means you can access bespoke support to make school or work that bit easier. We use the same NICE guidelines as the NHS to ensure accurate, safe diagnosis.

We’re on hand to help you make sense of how autism impacts you, with professional support recommendations to guide you past the initial diagnosis. Get in touch with us today.

What is autism?

Autism is a neurodevelopmental difference impacting a person’s perception of the world, the way they communicate, and how they process information.

As a spectrum, autism affects each person differently. For example, while one person may find social interaction quite draining, another may not be affected by that at all. However, common traits of autism include specialised hobbies, attention to detail, and a preference for routine.

Why choose a private autism assessment near Coventry?

In Coventry, wait times for NHS autism assessments can be as long as two years for children, with adults having to wait slightly longer.

With a private assessment, you skip wait times to get the answers you need quickly. Plus, as doctors use the same NICE guidelines, you can expect assessments to be just as safe, accurate, and professional as NHS diagnostic tests.

Our private autism assessments near Coventry provide you with the following benefits:

According to the Department for Education, there are 166,000 autistic pupils in schools across England.

What’s included in an autism assessment near Coventry?

01

Initial screening

Step one is to fill out our questionnaire and a sliding scale to help us understand how autism impacts your life. Unless you progress past this initial stage with us, we won’t charge you.
02

Additional background information

We reach out to your loved ones, family, and friends to get more information on how neurodivergence impacts you during day-to-day life. We’ll only do this with your permission.
03

Clinical interview

Now that we have all the background information we need, we’ll invite you to an online or in-person interview to get to know you a bit better. We’ll discuss your daily life, the challenges you face, and your developmental history. Approximately 60-90 minutes.
04

Observational Assessment

Next, we’ll assess how autism impacts you in the day-to-day. We’ll be looking at aspects such as social interaction and communication to build a complete picture of your behaviour. We use ADOS-2 tools for accuracy.
05

Diagnostic decision

With all the information gathered, we’ll assess our findings to get you the results you need. Once we’ve got the answers for you, we’ll invite you back to discuss them together. During this stage, we use DSM-5 criteria.
06

Receive your report

An email version of your assessment will be sent to you within 7 working days. Here, you’ll find the documentation, a confirmation of your diagnosis, and recommendations on treatment plans (where applicable).

Autism assessment Coventry pricing

We know there are additional financial costs to consider with a private autism assessment, but we’re here to reassure you.

Considering using your private health insurance for an autism assessment with us? Well, make sure to double-check if this is covered under your provider. Many private health insurance providers don’t include such assessments within their coverage.

Please note: In more complex cases, our Specialist Clinicians may need to seek advice from a Consultant Psychiatrist. In these instances, reports may be delayed past 7 working days. We will always keep you informed.

Autism assessment fees

Please note: that if the Specialist Clinician considers your case to be complex during the assessment, they may need additional information or seek advice from the Consultant Psychiatrist. This could potentially delay your report beyond the standard 7 working days.
