Whether your diagnosis and treatment were received from an independent provider or through the NHS, we are here to assist you in transferring your care smoothly, allowing you to continue your treatment without undergoing another diagnostic assessment.

To expedite the process, please provide a written report from your previous provider that includes details about your diagnosis and treatment plan. This report should meet the standards set by NICE guidance. If you cannot access this report immediately, don’t worry; our team can assist you with alternative options.
If available, please send us any copies of rating scales or questionnaires that you submitted to your previous specialist. We will also send you some new ADHD questionnaires to complete, which will include information about your current and past physical and mental health, as well as any medications you are taking.
Following the medication review appointment, you will transition seamlessly into a regular schedule of follow-up appointments. This will help us monitor your progress, make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan, and provide ongoing support.
We will aim to arrange a shared care agreement with your NHS GP where possible. If your GP agrees, you will continue seeing your ADHD specialist while your prescriptions are issued through the NHS, helping to reduce private medication costs.
At Neuroaffinity, we strictly adhere to NICE guidelines regarding your assessment and diagnostic process. If the information provided about your previous diagnosis does not align with the recommended process by NICE, we will be unable to accept the transfer of your care for treatment.
In such cases, we will ensure to keep you fully informed before your appointment and will make every effort to contact your previous clinician in advance, provided you give your consent.
We understand that obtaining a written report from your previous provider may not always be possible. In such cases, we encourage you to reach out to us. Our admin team will arrange a re-assessment to collect the necessary information and ensure that your treatment journey continues smoothly.
